Hi Ray and Carolyn,

The project is out to bid now, and we will open bids on July 31.  After that, we will go to the County Board of Supervisors for them to award the contract to the low bidder.

We will likely go to the August 14 County Board of Supervisors  meeting.  Following award of the contract, we allow the contractor two weeks before they need to start work.

Thus, they will likely start work by the end of August/beginning of September.

The overall project consists of curb ramps in Marin City, curb ramps in Marinwood, and the Lucas Valley Sidewalk along the Las Gallinas to Los Gamos corridor.

After we award the project, the contractor will submit their schedule.  We will then know when they plan on starting the work.

A ground breaking ceremony on Sept. 15 sounds fine*.  Being a Saturday, the contractor will not be working.  Depending on the schedule, there may be some work already performed along Lucas Valley Road (clearing/grubbing, etc).
We will know more by late August.

Talk to you soon,

Scott

*Note: the Ground Breaking Ceremony has been scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
